Golf shot tracer for iPhone
See the flight of every shot.
Record or import a swing and Carryline draws the ball’s flight on your video, then exports a clip ready to share. Everything runs on your iPhone. No account, no upload.
- Finds the ball on clear shots
- Two taps when it isn’t sure
- Exports in 9:16, 1:1 and 16:9
How it works
From swing to shareable clip in three steps.
- 1
Record or import
Film with the guided camera at up to 240 fps (depending on your iPhone), or pick a swing video from Photos and trim it to the shot.
- 2
Trace
Carryline listens for impact, finds the ball and fits its flight. When it can’t find the ball with confidence, it says so and asks you to tap the ball and where it landed.
- 3
Fine-tune and export
Drag the start, apex, landing and curve handles frame by frame, pick a style, then save to Photos or share straight from the app.
Features
Built for the range, honest about the result.
High-frame-rate capture
60, 120 or 240 fps where your iPhone supports it, with battery and temperature shown while you record.
Import from Photos
Bring in a video you already shot. You choose the clip in Apple’s picker; the rest of your library stays private.
Every line is editable
Start, apex, landing and curvature handles, frame-by-frame stepping, and undo. Left-handed golfers get the right shot shape.
Tracer styles
Broadcast, Bright, Gradient or Plain, with colour, thickness, glow and a fade after landing.
Shot card
Add the club and the carry or total you know. Carryline shows what you enter and never pretends to measure it.
Multi-shot overlay
Lay several shots from the same setup on one clip to see your dispersion at a glance. Pro.
Export your way
Vertical, square or widescreen. 1080p on the free plan, 4K with Pro.
Private by design
Videos are processed and kept on your iPhone. No account, no tracking, no analytics.
39 languages
Switch the app language instantly in Settings, independent of your iPhone’s language.
Session mode
Record the whole bucket. Get every shot.
Leave the phone on a stand and hit balls. Session mode records the whole session, splits it into individual shots, then traces them one after another. Keep the ones you like, overlay them, and export them in one go.
- Splits a long recording or an imported video into separate shots
- Traces each shot in sequence, with a clear prompt when one needs your taps
- Delete the misses, select the keepers, batch export
Free users can try session mode once — the first 5 shots of that session are kept. Unlimited sessions and batch export come with Pro.
What Carryline isn’t
A tracer, not a launch monitor.
No made-up numbers
A phone video can’t measure ball speed, spin or distance reliably, so Carryline doesn’t show them as measurements.
Processed after you record
Tracing runs once the clip is saved, not live, so your iPhone stays cool through a long session.
Best from behind the ball
Film down the line with the phone still on a tripod or stand. Busy backgrounds and handheld video are harder to trace.

FAQ
Questions, answered.
Does Carryline upload my videos?
No. Recording, tracing and exporting all happen on your iPhone. Your clips leave the device only when you share or save them yourself.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-in. Pro purchases are tied to your Apple Account and can be restored with Restore Purchases.
Does it find the ball every time?
Not every time, and it won’t pretend to. On clear, steady down-the-line footage it usually finds the ball by itself. When it isn’t confident, it tells you and asks for two taps: the ball and the landing spot.
Does it measure distance, ball speed or spin?
No. Carryline draws the flight you can see in the video. If you add carry or total to a shot card, those are your numbers, shown as you entered them.
Which iPhones are supported?
Any iPhone running iOS 18 or later. Available frame rates (60, 120, 240 fps) depend on your model; higher frame rates make fast ball flights easier to follow.
How should I film?
From behind the golfer looking down the target line, with the phone still on a tripod or stand and the ball clearly visible against the sky or background.
How does the free trial work?
The yearly plan includes a 3-day free trial for eligible users. You won’t be charged if you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends; otherwise the yearly plan starts automatically.
Can I use my own videos?
Yes. Import any swing video from Photos and trim it to the shot. Long videos can be split into a session of individual shots.
